Testimonials

"We are pleased to be able to recommend the work of the Accounting for Charities Trust carried out by Mentor/trainer Mark Vallance. I met Mark at a training day/workshop organised by the Upper Hutt Council and found him excellent with the material presented relevant and helpful.

I then contacted Mark to discuss the issues we were having with our financial accounting at Alzheimers Wellington and as a result we contracted him to install a new package Xero and train us in its use. This has been an outstanding success. We find the package easy to use and Mark’s instructions helpful. He has an excellent manner and our administrator, who was not fully confident with financial packages, loves the new programme and speaks highly of Mark’s patience and skills as a trainer.

I would like to think that more not for profit organisations could benefit from the work of the Trust. Mark’s fees are very low for voluntary organisations and the package Xero is also cheap to run and very easy to use. By funding the Trust you are really helping the not for profit sector in general. It is so important that the sector gets its finances right and is able to afford to contract someone of Mark’s ability".

About Us

'Accounting For Charities Trust' is a Charitable Trust providing subsidised, affordable financial education and training to Not-For-Profit and charitable organisations.

The Trust was formed after identifying a skill gap in financial literacy of many employees in the Not-For-Profit sector which is preventing many of those organisations from achieving their full potential. Many organisations also don't have the resources to upskill their staff, and end up with costly accounting issues and problems with fundraising.

Accounting for Charities Trust is able to provide a subsidised, affordable mentoring/training service because we have the support of funders who believe in the benefits of our services to the community.

Vision: "Provide affordable, quality financial education and training to volunteers and employees for the benefit of the Not-For-profit sector".

Benefits: The benefits of upskilling employees in the Not-for-Profit sector are huge – improving performance; improving likelihood of additional fundraising; and reducing costly errors. The benefits are not just to those organisations, but to the whole society in terms of integrity and public perception.

Trustees of 'Accounting for Charities Trust':

The Trustees of Accounting For Charities Trust have a wealth of experience in the charitable/Not-For-profit sector, and are passionate about assisting their communities for the wellbeing of society as a whole.

The board of Trustees bring extensive skills to Accounting for Charities Trust, and are currently working in, or for the benefit of the Not-For-Profit sector and have had experience working as Budget Advisors and Community Advisors, and have extensive experience at management level in both corporate and fundraising organisations.

Trustees: Terei Koopu, Princely Muttiah, Sarah Vallance.
